I've been working on a new body of work this summer. It reflects a change in my approach to surface and space. A deviation from the cherry themes, the focus has been complete surface decoration, pattern and the space left in between. I should title the body, "Glazes, Grids and the Grind" as this process requires a good dose of lazer focus, a steady hand and more time than I care to admit.
Pieces from the "Dot Illusion" series are making appearances locally. Find them at the "Sips, Brews and Gulps" Cup Exhibition at Sweetwater Center for the Arts until August.
This upcoming weekend I'll be at one of the most beautiful show venues- Whispering Pines Farm. A wonderful mix of antiques, art, wine and food , the "Antiques & Artisans" is worth the short trip into the country side. My favorite cupcake queen- Studecakers will be there as well! Hope to see you!! June 20 & 21 10-4pm $5 admission.
The CherryWare exhibit closed yesterday. Thank you to everyone who came out. It was great to see so many friends and meet new faces. Great pieces went to wonderful homes.
If you've got sturdy snow boots, come on over to see the cups on the wall in the current studio exhibit. Anyone willing to trek through the snow to my door can pick a mug from the wall and I'll brew a fresh pot for you!
